Walking and running, the two basic gaits used by man. The purpose of this study was to study the correlation between body mass index and gait parameters in primary school children. Methods: 320 normal children from primary schools (El Safa private school in Embaba district Giza governate) 185 boys and 135 girls with their mean age 10±0.95 years and mean weight 38.5±12.2 kilograms and mean height 139.2±10.1 centimeters and mean BMI 19.5±4.5 kilograms per meter squared participated in this study through march 2020 for two weeks duration. BMI was evaluated by KINLEE Electronic Personal Scale with Height Measurement and CDC charts for boys and girls and equation of BMI. gait parameters were evaluated by using pediatric run based anerobic sprint test with Omron pedometer to assess run speed, step length and stride length. Results: Statistical analysis was performed by Pearson's correlation coefficient to study the relationship between variables. There was no significant relationship between BMI and gait parameters (run speed, step length and stride length)
