This study was conducted to investigate if there is a correlation between cervical spondylosis and diaphragmatic excursion in non-smoking adults by using ultra Sonographic evaluation of the diaphragm. Eighty-four nonsmoking volunteer (45 men & 39 women) were participated in this study and divided into two equal groups; group (A) patients with Cervical spondylosis, group (B) healthy volunteer with normal cervical spine. Both groups were evaluated by the same methods. their age ranged from 40 to 50 years. Their body mass index(BMI) between 18.5 and 29.9 kg/m2 and they were selected from the Outpatient clinic and the Emergency department of Al-Mataria Teaching Hospital.The Evaluations of all patients in both groups (A&B) were assessed by the same methods and tools, through measuring their upper and lower chest expansion, diaphragmatic thickness, rest and deep diaphragmatic excursion and anthropometric measurements (weight and BMI), and quality of life assessment using the WHOQOL-BREF Questionnaire. The results this study showed that there was a statistically no significant difference (P>0.05) between both groups (A&B) in Age, Height, weight and BMI. While, there was a statistically significant decrease (P<0.05) in chest expansion, diaphragmatic thickness, diaphragmatic rest and deep excursion and velocity means in group A compared to their corresponding value in group B. The conclusion the present study revealed that there is a correlation between cervical spondylosis and diaphragmatic excursion in non-smoking adults
