The study deals with the dilemmas of identity and integration of minorities in western societies with a special focus on the statues of Muslims in Germany as a case study in the period 1990 to 2015. The study depends on three main approaches that are socio-political, case study, and discourse analysis. The first chapter deals with the different interpretations of identity and identity formation, the second chapter deals with the process of integration and different phases and levels of integration, applying this on the case study; while the third chapter deals with an analysis of the discourse about Muslims in Europe and Germany, with an analysis of the semi-structured interviews conducted by the researcher on Muslims who are living in Germany. The study findings suggest the process of integration faces challenges. Negative stereotyping and false image of Muslims and Islam are among the major challenges. The study offers some recommendations that the host society needs to be open for differences. On the other hand, Muslims need to engage more in the host society where they are living
