Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Basic Science Summary: Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the impact of proprioceptive training in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain (CNLBP) on lower back muscle performance. Subjects and Methods: Forty three patients were participated in this study from both genders (28females and 15 males) with CNLBP, their ages were ranged from 18 to 26 years, they were assigned to the sample and randomly classified into two groups (A and B). Group A (n =22) received proprioceptive training and conventional strengthening and stretching exercises three times per week for 2 months (24 sessions). group B (n=21), patients received only conventional strengthening and stretching exercises for 2 months three times per week (24 sessions). Biodex System 3 Pro Isokinetic Dynamometer was used to assess lower back muscle performance (peak torque) and repositioning error of the lumbar spine, Pressure pain algometer was used to measure pain level and the Arabic version of Oswestry Disability Index was used to assess the functional level (ODI), all were utilized to assess subjects' outcomes before and after treatment. Results: For statistical analysis, Mixed ANOVA was conducted to investigate the effect of treatment and it revealed a statistically significant effect (p {u02C2} 0.0001) of treatment in both groups in all measured variables (Peak torque flexors (PTF), peak torque extensors (PTE), lumbar repositioning error (LRE), pressure pain threshold (PPT), and functional level (FL). Within group analysis, there was a significant difference between pre and post in group A and B with favor to group A as p {u02C2} 0.05
