Mango fruit (cv. Keitt) is one of the most attentive fruits for the Egyptian consumer during summer season due to its attractive appearance, intense aroma, and delicious taste. Thus, increasing the fruit retention of Keitt mango on the trees and extending the storage life of fruits with optimum fruit quality were the main objectives in our investigation. Therefore, two separate experiments were conducted in 2018 and 2019 seasons. Firstly, studying the effect of pre-harvest treatments of 50 and100 æM of Sodium nitroprusside (SNP), 2.5 and 5mM of salicylic acid (SA), and 5 and 10mM of oxalic acid (OA) on fruit retention, potential storage life and maintaining Keitt fruit quality. Mango fruit trees were sprayed fifteen days before the expected harvesting date then the total number of fruits on the trees was recorded periodically then samples of each treatment were collected and stored at 13 {u02DA}C for 30 days. Fruit quality of each treatment was evaluated before and after the storage. Secondly, studying the effect of chitosan 1% (CHIT), carboxymethyl cellulose 2% (CMC), bentonite loaded with potassium sorbate 1:15:0.07 (v/w/w) (BENT), SNP 100oM, SA 5mM, and OA 10mM on prolonging the storage life and maintaining higher quality attributes of Keitt mango fruit under cold storage condition. Keitt mango fruits were treated with the previous treatments, packed and stored at 13 {u02DA}C for 42 days. The fruit quality was assessed continuously during storage period. The results of the first experiment showed higher impacts of the treatments on the mango fruit retention comparing to untreated trees. SNP treatment recorded the highest number of retained fruits on the trees comparing to SA and OA
