Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Engineering - Department Of Biomedical Engineering Summary: Retinal tracking is a proposed modality of treating the retinal disordersIn this modality the retina is to be tracked automatically and the laser energy is to be applied in a predetermined positionsDiabetic retinopathy is one of the most common diseases that may affect the retinachoroidal neovascularization (CNV) is a complication of diabetic retinopathy in which a small blood vessels arise in the choroidsThese blood vessels reduce the amount of blood supplying the retina leading to sight degradation and in its sever conditions it may cause blindnessTo treat this condition , the retina must be scanned to extract the neovascularization and coagulate it using laser energyBecause the eye and hence the retina is a moving object , a motion tracking method is required to update the position of laser shots according to the movements of the retina
