Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communications
This thesis presents an integrated RF energy harvesting system design approach with 2 design variants: the first variant targets to improve the performance of conventional harvesters by addressing the flaws associated with them. The second variant proposes a new architecture that replaces the diode-connected transistors with diode-emulated devices. Both designs are reconfigurable to provide wide operating range. Additionally, a voltage feedback loop is employed to regulate the output voltage in both variants.Extra available power is provided to a secondary storage unit (supercapacitor). Both systems are implemented in 130nm technology, and simulation results show that the design is superior to previous work in achieving the design aspects
