Background: Fibro-osseous lesions are pathologically diverse group of lesions characterized by the replacement of bone by a fibrous stroma, which could contain foci of mineralization. Aim: The aim was to determine the prevalence of fibroosseous lesions of the jaws (from 2010 to 2019) in Cairo educational hospitals and institutions and to compare the microvessel density and cell proliferation in juvenile ossifying fibroma and central ossifying fibroma. Methodology: Data for the study was obtained from the reports of patients diagnosed histopathologically with fibroosseous lesions of the jaws between January 2010 to December 2019 in Cairo educational hospitals and institutions. Results: A total of 82 (0.7%) cases of fibroosseous lesions from 12091 biopsies were documented. Fibrous dysplasia constituted (19.5%), ossifying fibroma was (45.1%), juvenile ossifying fibroma was (25.6%). While cementoosseous dysplasia was (8.5%) and familial gigantiform cementoma was (1.2 %). Immunohistochemical analysis estimated increased microvessel density for CD31 and cell proliferation for Ki67 which were significantly higher in juvenile ossifying fibroma than in ossifying fibroma. Conclusions: We observed a geographic variable incidence of fibroosseous lesions in Cairo governorate and Dependence of JOF on proliferative ability and stromal nourishment in its aggressiveness
