Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Summary: This study to determine the different types of pediatric hematological diseases and different investigation done, treatment given to patients admitted at pediatric hematology unit in Cairo University Children Hospital (CUCH). Material & method This is an Observational study of patients admitted to the hematology unit of Cairo University Children Hospital (CUCH) over a period of at least six months where retrospective assessment of patient investigations and clinical sheets was carried out in addition to actual assessment of patient clinical conditions and prospective evaluation of the patients progress during the six month period of the study so the study is observational study with retrospective elements and prospective elements. Results. During the Study period there were 160 admissions at clinical hematology unit at Cairo University Hospital over aperiod of 8 months with different diagnoses and causes of admission with 98 male (61.3%) & 62female (38.8%) from different governorates ,about 70 admissions(43.8 %) was from Cairo. The commonest diagnosis was aplastic anemia (23.1%) then hemophilia (18.1%) with the commonest cause of admission was febrile neutropenia (16.3%) & hemarthrothes (17.5%).Many laboratory & radiological investigation done CBC was done in (100% ) & the commonest radiological investigation was chest x ray( 35.6%)
