Designed modified electrodes were fabricated for determination of drugs, biological, and hazardous compounds. For drugs determination, GC/Gr/CNT-HQ/Fe-Ni sensor was fabricated based on layer-by-layer modification of a glassy carbon electrode (GC) surface with graphene (Gr), carbon nanotubes mixed with hydroquinone (CNT-HQ), and iron nickel alloy (Fe-Ni) for electrochemical determination of linezolid and meropenem in human blood serum. Another sensor CNT-Aunano-TU was fabricated by one-pot preparation of thiourea self-assembled monolayers (TU-SAMs) over gold nanoparticles mixed with carbon nanotubes for concurrent determination of dobutamine, paracetamol, amlodipine, and daclatasvir drugs. For biological compounds determination, GC/CNT/PHQ/CE and GC/ILC/(CNT-Fe-Ni) sensors were fabricated for simultaneous determination of levodopa, uric acid, and tyrosine, and for hydrogen peroxide in human blood serum samples, respectively. For hazardous compounds determination, GC/CNT/PHQ/CE sensor based on poly hydroquinone (PHQ) and crown ether (CE), and CNT-Aunano-TU sensor based on TU-SAMs were fabricated for concurrent determination of hydroquinone, catechol, and resorcinol, and for hydroquinone, catechol, phenol, and pnitrophenol, respectively in real water samples. Other sensors as GC/(CNT-Sr₂PdAuO₃) based on perovskite (Sr₂PdAuO₃), and GC/CNT/NF/CW/Aunano based on nafion (NF), crown ether (CW) and Aunano were fabricated for determination of hydrazine hydrate (HH) in real water samples. Low detection limits, excellent interference resistance, good reproducibility and perfect storage stability were the features of the modified sensors. Acceptable recoveries were obtained for practical applications of the studied sensors in real samples for determination of the above-mentioned compounds
