Background: Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) has a significant recurrence rate following surgical evacuation. Postoperative atorvastatin administration has been proposed to decrease recurrence. Aim: The study aimed to evaluate effect of atorvastatin in surgical treatmentsof CSDH. Methods: This prospective randomized controlled study included 30 patients who were divided into 2 groups; group A received a one month regimen of atorvastatin while group B did not receive atorvastatin. Results: No recurrent case was detected in both groups. The difference between 2 groups was statistically insignificant (p value =1). Conclusion: atorvastatin are not warranted in patients undergoing surgery for CSDH
