Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Agriculture - Department Of Soil Science Summary: Leaching study of disturbed highly saline sodic soil was carried out in PVC containersThe leaching was performed intermittentlyGypsum , HCl , CaCl2 , citric , EDTA were applied alone or combinationThe amount of the effective leaching water required for total salt removal increased with the application of amendmentsThe residual salts averaged about 295 , 274 and 278 in hundred of the initial salts in the control , individual and combined treatments respectively , after the passing of 2 PV of leachateThe ESP decrease was more pronounced in CaCl2+gypsum treatmentOne depth of effective leaching water would generally reduce the soil salinity of an equivalent depth of soil by average 942 , 955 and 953 in hundred of the initial content in the control , individual and combined treatments respectivelyThe same depth of leaching water would also reduce the ESP by average 484 , 674 and 6877 of the initial value in the control , individual and combined treatments respectively
