N2  - Asphalt concrete is a composite consisting of mineral aggregate and asphalt cement.since mineral aggregate comprises more than of the composite by weight it is reasonable to insure that aggregate quality is a major factor in determining the performance of pavement constucted with asphalt concrete.the objective of this thesis is to determine natural and crushed aggregate shape characteristics including elongation flakiness and other shape indices and to evaluate the influence of these characteristics on hot asphalt mix properties
