<br/><br/> The powerful - powerless discourse in the selected played is mainly analyzed from three different perspectives : conversational organzation ; speech acts used by the interactants ; and politeness strategies used by the dominant and dominated participants in face - to - face interaction.As to the organization of discourse - with particular refernce to levinson's concept of preference organization - it is shown that use of adjacency pairs serves as a means of creating power relations
