<br/><br/> This study was carried out at the experimental nursery of the Ornamental Horticulture Department , Faculty of Agriculture , Cairo University , Giza during the two successive seasons of 2002 and 2003 to investigate the effect of different treatments of organic manures (poultry and cattle) ; biofertilizer (a liquid culture of composite inocula of Azospirillum brasilense , Bacillus polymyxa , Azotobacter chroococcum , Klebsiella pneumonia and Pseudomonas putida) and inorganic fertilizer (N) on vegetative growth , sennosides production and chemical composition of senna (Cassia acutifolia , Delile) plantsSeeds were sown in 30 cmplastic pots filled with either sandy soil from the Sixth of October City area or sandy loam soil from Al Wadi El - Faregh area in Giza
