<br/><br/> This is an interventional study aiming to study the effect of counseling for pulmonary TB cases on , their compliance to treatment and the attendance rate of their household contacts to Qaliub chest clinic for better case detection among themll newly diagnosed pulmonary TB patients attending to the clinic during the period of the study (1st January - 30th June 2005) were subjected to counseling session (25 patient) All their household contacts were tuberculin skin tested (83 subject) , chest radiography was done to the tuberculin positive reactorsWhen the X - ray picture suspectingTB disease , sputum smear examined microscopically for acid fast bacilli
