A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test , based on insertion sequence IS6110 , was developed to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex organisms in the blood samples of 56 tuberculosis patients and 34 healthy controls subjectsThe early secreted antigenic target 6 - KDa (ESAT - 6) are used to stimulate T lymphocyte subsets from tuberculosis - infected patients and the correlation of these immune responses to the genetic factors (HLA type) which determined the host immune response is evaluatedA 45 (803 patients were positive for the IS6110 gene while control subjects were negative for tuberculosisESAT - 6 derived peptides : P1 (105+0084) , P2 (108+0094) , P3 (102+0086) , P5 (098+0117) and P7 (126+0152) were significantly higher in the infected group than in the non - infected groupAdditionally , 33 patients and 12 controls were tested for HLA - DRB , HLA - DQB1 and HLA - DPB1Only type HLA - DRB1*15 was significantly associated with tuberculosis infection using the Chi - square test (X2 = 004311) HLA typing of patients showed that they covered a large spectrum of HLA moleculesBy using the relative risk , there are some HLA types that are relatively more susceptible to be associated with tuberculosis infection
