تعتبر المدرسة من أهم المؤسسات الاجتماعية التي تعمل على تهيئة الأجيال بالتربية والعلم ليساهموا في تنمية المجتمع وتقدمه , ولقد تعاظم دور المدرسة عبر الزمن فمع التغيرات الاجتماعية والتسارع العلمي تواجه المدرسة تغيرات وتحديات في وظائفها التي أخذت أبعاداً مختلفة، وهذا دليل على أن دور المدرسة يزداد أهمية ويتطلب مشاركة فعالة للأفراد والمؤسسات الاجتماعية، ويجب على المدرسة ألا تكون بمعزل عن المجتمع وأن يتم التخطيط لوظائفها المتعددة وصولاً إلى الأهداف التي يسعى النظام التربوي إلي تحقيقها، فهناك العديد من مصادر التعليم والمعرفة ولكن تظل المدرسة تمارس دورها التعليمي والتربوي وتعد الأجيال وتهيئهم ليكونوا رجال المستقبل مسلحين بسلاح العلم والمعرفة والقيم الإنسانية السامية، لكي يتواصل تقدم المجتمع الإنساني، ويتواصل التطور التاريخي جيلاً بعد جيل،فقد تطور دور المدرسة على مر العصور حتى أخذ أبعاداً مختلفة بفعل المتغيرات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية الحاصلة، ومع التطور التاريخي والتسارع العلمي أصبحت مهمة المدرسة أكثر تعقيداً ،وأصبح التعليم يعتمد على التكنولوجيا في تقديم المعارف المختلفة، كما أصبح هناك مصادر مختلفة لنقل المعرفة وأصبح من الضروري أن تشاركها الأسرة والمجتمع المحلي في مهمتها ،فالمدرسة لم تعد قادرة بمفردها على القيام بكل المهام التربوية والتعليمية التثقيفية التكوينية، لأن هناك العديد من المعوقات التي تعوقها عن القيام بالمهام المحددة لها . وتعد الدراسة الحالية محاولة للكشف عن الوظيفة الاجتماعية للمدرسة الإعدادية في ظل التغيرات الحديثة التي طرأت علي المجتمع ، وكذلك الكشف عن المعوقات البنائية والمعوقات التفاعلية التي تعوق المدرسة عن القيام بوظيفتها الاجتماعية داخل المجتمع. The school is one of the most important social institutions that work to prepare generations with education and science, contributing to the development and progress of society. The role of the school has grown over time. With social changes and scientific acceleration, the school faces changes and challenges in its functions, which have taken on different dimensions, and this is evidence that the role of the school is becoming increasingly important and requires participation. Effective for individuals and social institutions, and the school should not be isolated from society, and its multiple functions should be planned to reach the goals that the educational system seeks to achieve. There are alot of Knowledge and education resources, and yet school continues to perform its educational role ,And it prepares the generations to be the men of the future armed with the weapon of science,knowledge and lofty human values, in order for the progress of human society to continue, and for the historical development to continue generation after generation, The role of School has evolved over the ages until it has taken on different dimensions due to the social and economic changes taking place, And with the historical development and scientific acceleration, The mission of the school has become more complicated and education became more dependent on technology in providing different knowledge, as there are different sources for Transfer of knowledge and it became necessary for the family and the local community to share it in its mission, since the school is no longer able to carry out all the education and educational formative tasks on it’s own, because there are many obstacles that hinder it from carrying out the tasks set for it The current study is an attempt to reveal the social function of the middle school in light of the recent changes that have occurred in the community, as well as to reveal the structural and interactive obstacles that hinder the school from carrying out its social function within the community.
