Fasciola gigantica is considered one of the most important helminth infecting farm animals Under scanning electron microscopy , the surface of normal flucke is covered with spines and the common genital atrium lies between the oral and ventral sukers The distribution of spines varies from area to another on worm surface SEM of the adult worms treated with Bkurstaki showed shifting of the oral cone upward and herniation of pharynx There are a blebs and erosions at the tegumental surface TEM of the normal adult Fgigantica appeared as an annucleat cytoplasmic syncytium with basement membrane below The apical zone of cytoplasm has secretory granules , T1 and T2 TEM of the adult worms treated with Bkurstaki showed infolded apical plasma membrane and blebs just below and over the tegmental surface with a marked reduction in the T2 secretory bodies The gastrodermis and vitelline cells were vacuolated and destructed in some areas
