The study was conducted on twelve adult Egyptian subjects. Patients were divided randomly into two equal groups (of 6 patients each) according to the proposed line of treatment : Group I : Treatment was done by vertical alveolar distraction alone. Group II: Treatment was done by vertical alveolar distraction coupled by low intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) daily for 30 days starting from the first day of activation. Their ages ranged between (35-54 years) with a mean of 49.42 years , there was no significant difference in age between the two groups at P =0.6167 to exclude the age factor ; patients were chosen randomly from both sexes; group I (5males and one female ) group II (2females and 4 males ) yet there was no significant difference in sex at P=0.505 to exclude the sex factor also. UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
