N2  - The objective of this study is to develop a machine for chopping plant residues by using circular saws and hammer knives. To achieve this objective, three stages of development were applied .Then evaluation of the developed chopping machine performance in the three stages was carried out for several residues. the best treatment of the machine is the third development stage of cutting rotating drum knives with sharp edge and (210, 305 and 355 mm) circular disk that have been set on the rotating drum with distance (0.7cm) at the rotation speed (1200 rpm) for all the residues under study; الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تطوير آلة لتقطيع المخلفات النباتية باستخدام السكاكين الدائرية والمطرقية لتصبح مفيدة فى عملية تقليل حجم المخلفات وكذا تقليل التكلفة وزيادة إنتاجية آلة التقطيع وتم إجراء تقييم لأداء الألة فى تقطيع قش الارز ومخلفات الحدائق ومخلفات الاخشاب وقد تم تطوير الجزء الفعال للآلة باستخدام برامج التصميم (CAD ). من النتائج المتحصل عليها يمكن التوصية بشكل عام أن أفضل معاملة لإستخدام  الآلة لتقطيع المخلفات النباتية كانت عند إستخدام السكاكين ذات الحواف الحادة بجانب الأسطوانات الدائرية بأقطار (210 ، 305 ، 355 مم) على مسافة بينية بين السكاكين وبعضها 0.7 سم عند أعلى سرعة دوران 1200 دورة في الدقيقة لجميع المخلفات قيد الدراسة.
