The aim of study was to assess prevalence of ectopic pregnancy in women under study and determine the risk factors correlated to ectopic pregnancy in the study sample. Design: Descriptive design was adopted in the current study. Sample: Convenience sample of 121 women diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy were recruited, 76 women were interviewed in 2020 (prospective group), 44 were from hospital records (retrospective group). Tool: A structured interviewing questionnaire, hospital, medical records were utilized to collect the data. Results: Prevalence of ectopic pregnancy in current study (0.52%, 0.62 and 0.72%) in 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively. Risk factors of ectopic pregnancy were multi-gravida (55.2%), history of abortion (43.3%) history of PID (40%), history of abdominal and pelvic surgery (22.60%), history of infertility (19.1%), history of ART usage (16.5%), failure of intrauterine devices (13.3%), history of previous ectopic pregnancy (9.2%) and history of cesarean section deliveries more than three times (5.8%) sequentially. Conclusion; Ectopic pregnancy is an increasingly common and potentially catastrophic condition. The prevalence of ectopic pregnancy among women who present to emergency with 1st trimester bleeding or pain or both was matched with the worldwide prevalence. Multigravida, abortion and PID were the most common risk factors of ectopic pregnancy in the current study. Recommendations; Early diagnosis of an ectopic pregnancy via detailed history focusing on identification of risk factors for ectopic pregnancy will promote successful medical management thus reducing surgical intervention and ultimately reducing maternal morbidity/mortality with preservation of future fertility;
