N2  - This thesis examines the relationship between using audiobooks and the youths’ knowledge level. The study depended on the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia learning and The Activation Theory of Information Exposure. The main goals of the study are to describe the relationship between youths’ knowledge level and using audiobooks as a new technology of reading and learning. In addition, examine the relationship between the narrators’ performance and using audiobooks, and determine the advantages and disadvantages of using audiobooks. 
These objectives achieved by testing four hypotheses. These hypotheses were: H1:There is a correlational relationship between using audiobooks as a way of reading and youths’ knowledge level,H2: There is a correlational relationship between the narrator’s performance of the content and using audiobooks, H3: Reading and listening to text at the same time or listening to the content only through audiobooks is better than reading the text only,H4: There is a correlational relationship between using audiobooks as a way of reading and attracting youth to gain knowledge from other printed books. 
This study used the quasi-experimental methodology and In-depth interviews tool. An experiment conducted on 60 participants and 15 experts participated in the in-depth interview. The results of the study explained that there is a direct and indirect relationship between youths’ knowledge level and using audiobooks. In addition to that there is a relationship between narrators’ performance and using audiobooks, the expert explained that the narrators performance play a great role in using audiobooks as it is the basic element in the audiobooks process. Overall study supported that audiobooks can be applied in various fields of society and it is complementary technology to printed text.
; تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة العلاقة بين استخدام الشباب للكتب المسموعة كأحد تقنيات القراءة والتعلم الجديدة ومستوى المعرفة لديهم. اعتمدت الدراسة على اربع فروض لمعرفة العلاقة بين استخدام الشباب للكتب المسموعة وعلاقتها بمستوى المعرفة لديهم ، هذ الفروض كالأتي: الفرض الأول: توجد علاقةارتباطية بين استخدام الشباب للكتب المسموعة ومستوى المعرفة لديهم, الفرض الثاني: توجد علاقة ارتباطية بين أداء الراوي واستخدام الكتاب المسموع, الفرض الثالث: قراءة النص مع الإستماع إليه أو الاستماع إليه فقط من خلال الكتاب المسموع أفضل من قراءة النص فقط، الفرض الرابع: توجد علاقة ارتباطية بين استخدام الشباب للكتب المسموعة والانجذاب لاستخدام الكتب المطبوعة في الحصول على المعرفة. اعتمدت الدراسة على نظريتين في صياغة فروض الدراسة: النظرية المعرفية للتعلم من خلال الوسائط المتعددة، نظرية التنشيط اثناء التعرض للمعلومات. اعتمدت الدراسة علي المنهج الكمي والمنهج الكيفي في جمع البيانات حيث استخدمت المنهج شبه التجريبي في اختبار فروض الدراسة. شارك في التجربة 60 مبحوث ، تم تقسيمهم إلى 30مبحوث في المجموعة الضابطة و 30 مبحوث في المجموعة التجريبية. كما استخدمت الدراسة أداة المقابلات المتعمقة كأحد أدوات المنهج الكيفي في جمع البيانات بهدف الحصول على معلومات متعمقة ووجهات نظر مختلفة بالنسبة للكتب المسموعة. تم مقابلة 15 خبير لمعرفة وجهة نظرهم بخصوص الكتاب المسموع . من أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها الدراسة : توجد علاقة مباشرة وغير مباشرة بين استخدام الكتاب المسموع ومستوى المعرفة لدى الشباب، كما أنه توجد علاقة مباشرة وغير مباشرة بين طبيعة أداء الراوي واستخدام الكتاب المسموع. أوضحت الدراسة أن استخدام الشباب للكتاب المسموع لايؤثر علي استخدامهم للكتاب المطبوع. إن الكتاب المسموع يعد أداة تكميلية للكتب المطبوعة يساعد على انتشارها كما يمكن توظيفه في مجالات عدة في المجتمع.
