<br/><br/> This thesis aims at capturing the causal effect of participating in global value chains (GVC) on innovation and wage rate in developing countries. At the macroeconomic level, the empirical study relies on merging EORA26 input output tables with R&D stock data of the world bank to capture the effect of knowledge spillovers on resident patent per capita. At the firm level, the empirical study relies on the World Bank Enterprise Surveys (WBES) comprehensive dataset to capture the effect of GVC participation on different innovation types. To capture the GVC effect on labor wages, the study relies on matching and merging WBES with Labor Market Panel Surveys datasets. This dissertation argues that GVC participation is beneficial to developing countries in terms of innovation and labor market outcomes.  تهدف الرسالة الي تحليل العلاقة بين سلاسل القيمة العالمية ومتغيرات الابتكار ونتائج سوق العمل باستخدام اساليب الاقتصاد القياسي. تنقسم المنهجية الي ٣ اقسام: أولا، نموذج الاقتصاد الكلي الذي يعتمد على بيانات براءات الاختراع للفرد كمتغير تابع. ثانيا، نموذج الاقتصاد الجزئي الذي يعتمد على مؤشرات سلاسل القيمة والابتكار في بيانات استطلاع البنك الدولي للمشروعات. ثالثا، نموذج الاقتصاد الجزئي الذي يعتمد على دمج بيانات استطلاع البنك الدولي للمشروعات مع بيانات استطلاع سوق العمل.<br/>
