N2  - Creative placemaking is an urban planning and design approach that utilizes art and culture to create dynamic, engaging, and inclusive public spaces. This research abstract presents a study that tests the hypothesis that creative placemaking can activate places and promote social sustainability in Cairo. The study proposes three research objectives: developing a creative placemaking framework, evaluating programs and interventions, and understanding how creative placemaking brings communities together. The research methodology involves defining social inclusion attributes, examining the definition of placemaking, analyzing examples of creative placemaking, and incorporating a pilot study of "walls of connection" and field work of "Along the Line." The study offers practical guidance for designers, practitioners, and policymakers in implementing successful creative placemaking initiatives, with the potential to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.
