Background: metabolic syndrome is defined by the co-occurrence of multiple cardiovascular risk factors. These risk factors include visceral obesity, low high density lipoprotein cholesterol, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and hypertension that lowered quality of life. Objective: determining the effect of Baduanjin exercises on patients' quality of life who suffered from metabolic syndrome. Patients and Methods: A clinical research that was randomized and prospective involved sixty patients who had metabolic syndrome, their age ranged from 60 to 70. They were chosen from Qalioup General Hospital's outpatient clinic of internal illnesses. Patients were randomly assigned to two equal groups in number. Group A performed daily Baduanjin exercise in addition to receiving medical treatment while, Group B received just medical treatment for twelve weeks, The following parameters were compared before and after 12 weeks of training: triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), fasting plasma glucose (FGL), waist circumference (WC), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and the short form 12 mental and physical component scores (SF12MCS and SF12PCS). Results: Based on within groups analysis, This research revealed a considerable improvement in SBP, with study group around 10.43%. DBP significantly decreased with improvement in group study around 8.16%. With an improvement percentage of roughly 4.7% study group, there was a considerable decrease in waist circumference. Triglycerides decreased significantly and study group showed improvements of roughly 17.37%. HDL-C significantly improved in study group, with improvements of around 7.24%. The FBS significantly decreased, with improvements in group of roughly 17.3%. SF12PCS significantly improved in study group, with improvements of around 44%. SF12MCS significantly improved in study group, with improvements of around 37%. Conclusions: Baduanjin exercise reduced metabolic syndrome symptoms and improved quality of life.
