<br/><br/> Diltiazem hydrochloride is a calcium channel blocker drug and widely prescribed at relatively high doses for the treatment of hypertension and angina. It is a freely water- soluble drug. The short half- life of diltiazem ranging from 3 to 5 hours requires multipe daily drug dosage in order to maintain adequate plasma concentrations
