<br/><br/> Disposing of the straw (55000 tons) left over from the crop harvest has become a problem because of the pollution it causes when burned Burning is being phased out as part of an effort to clean up the environment The major pollutants of rice straw fields burning are 4 kg / ton , 41 kg / ton and 4 kg / ton of particulate , carbon monoxide and volatile organics respectively
