<br/><br/> This work was carried out on 97 male patients above the age of 18 with diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia attending the oncology institute in Cairo, Egypt, from May 2005 till October 2007. Only 70 patients gave informed consent to be included in the study, 28 patients of them were excluded. 42 patients were assigned randomly into 30 cases and 12 controls
