<br/><br/> Arylhydrazones were prepared by the coupling reaction of 3-cyanoacety1-2-methylindole with aromatic diazonium salts. These arylhydrazones were used for synthesis of 4-aminopyrazole-5-carbonitrile and 5-amino-4-arylazo-3-(indole-3` -y1) pyrazole derivatives by the reaction with chloroacetonitrile and hydrazine hydrate, respectively
