N2  - 40 patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy surgery and complaining of chronic pulmonary diseases were divided randomly into two groups : group (A) 20 patients received thoracic epidural anesthesia alone and group (B) 20 patients received general anesthesia . The hemodynamics pulmonary function tests blood gases visual analogue score (VAS) post operative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and total pethidine consumption were measured and compared in both groups for 48 hours
