<br/><br/> Endotoxin (lipopolysaccharides ; LPS) are known to cause multiple organ failure , including myocardial dysfunction . The present study investigated the effect of pentoxifylline (PTX) , a tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-Ü) inhibitor , aminoguanidine (AG) , a selective inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) inhibitor and caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) , a natural antioxidant , on endotoxin - induced cardiac stress
