Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is the initial dialysis modality in children. Peritonitis remains the major complication of PD causing not only pain, hospitalization, and catheter loss, but also mortality in pediatric patients. Aim of study to detect bacterial infection and effect of gentamicin cream application. The study was applied on 70 patients, assigned randomly into one of two group 1: with daily gentamicin application and , with no gentamicin, for each patient an exit-site swab and effluent have been directly examined, gram stained and cultured
