Anemia is the commonest medical disorder to complicate pregnancy. Iron deficiency is believed to be the most common cause of anemia in pregnancy. According to present data, it can be concluded that a mean of hemoglobin level of pregnant females attending Elkasr Alaini obstetric emergency ward at time of delivery was 9.3 gm/d1, females with severe anemia were (13.0%), moderate anemia were (34.0%) and mild anemia were 53.0%
