Extraction is one of the most commonly used orthodontic tools in the treatment of many orthodontic problems such as; relief of anterior crowding, reduction of dento-alveolar protrusion, improving facial esthetics and correction of dental arch mal-relationships by dental camouflage. The first premolar extraction followed by distal canine retraction is considered the most frequently used tactics to solve the previously mentioned orthodontic problems
