<br/><br/> Our study found low basic knowledge about menstruation in this age group and most of girls take their information about menstrual cycles from mothers, sisters and friends. Ninety-three percent of the respondents in this study reported dysmenorrhea, approximately 70% of the sample reported at least one symptom of PMS symptoms and 5-14% of girls had atypical menstrual symptoms that could indicate underlying pathology
