<br/><br/> Different types of bones from different animals had been collected to test the effect of different fixatives and decalcifying agents on the bone tissue and on its affinity to different stains. Strong acids like hydrochloric acid (Jenkin's fluid) and nitric acid (Perenyi`s fluid) resulted in rapid decalcification but showed swelling of collagen of bony lamellae and impairment of staining
