The thermal performance of a building is affected by the solar absorptivity through building envelope, which consists of wall, window, and roof. Especially the roof which has the highest heat gain among the building envelope components compared to the area. The history of finding the most adequate roof form and its integration with various passive techniques was significant in climatic responsive architecture, in order to enhance thermal comfort conditions in living space and at the same time to reduce both the embodied and operational energy consumption, which firstly applied in vernacular buildings in using the vault and dome forms in order to minimize the direct solar heat gain, or using the concaved roofs like in Igloo form to preserve the heat inside, achieve bioclimatism that integrates the micro-climate and architecture to human thermal comfort conditions
