A total of eighteen implants were placed in partially edentulous patients in both arches. A radiographic stent was constructed with embedded titanium pins and the patients were instructed to wear the stent during a C.T. scan. The data was transferred to the software program where implant planning was performed. The radiographic stent was then transformed into surgical guide. After implant placement another C.T. scan was obtained the variation in angle between the planned implant site and the true implant direction was verified. The computer guidance was directed towards the orientation, but the depth of the placement was guided manually by the drill depth markings
