<br/><br/> This research introduces some improvements to the evaluation of petrophysical and acoustical parameters of the subsurface based on wireline logging data. Effective porosity in clean and shaly formations is evaluated based on a new formulation that requires acoustic-radiation data. It develops a new formulation to quantify P-wave velocity in absence of many logs and core then using P-wave equation with help of poisson`s ratio; S-wave velocity can be evaluated
