With the rapid development of wireless communication systems, reconfigurable antenna has received much attention, since it can change the radiation pattern, frequency and polarization of an antenna in response to environmental conditions to improve the overall system performance. The objective of this thesis is to design multiple planar reconfigurable antennas that meet most of wireless telecommunication applications requirements as in Wi-Fi/WiMAX applications, WLAN applications, wireless laptops, USB and mobile phones applications. The investigated antennas were designed, analyzed and simulated using ready-made software packages (Computer Simulation Technology Microwave Studio (CST)). Simulated antennas were fabricated using photolithographic technique. Verification of the designs was done through comparison between simulated results and experimental measurements
