A. bammunnii is characterized by its extraordinary ability to persist in the environment. Moreover, it has a magnificence ability to acquire and express multiple resistance mechanisms against major antibiotic classes. There is no unique bacterial metabolic test that can differentiate it from other non - lactose fermenter gram negative bacteria; furthermore, the pathogenicity of Acinetobacter species is not the same. A. baumannii species are the most frequently involved in severe infections. The present study aimed to characterize the prevalence of MDR - A. bammunnii in Egyptian hospital; Identify their antimicrobial susceptibility level; phenotypic characterization of resistance mechanisms; molecular identification of class D and metallo - Ý - lactamase; molecular typing of IMRAB and apply nano - gold assay using unmodified AuNPs for rapid detection of A. baummnnii UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
