N2  - 2 - Acetylnaphthalene 1 condenses with dimethylformamide dimethylacetal (DMFDMA) yielding enaminone 2 , best yield was obtained by heating in a domestic microwave oven at full power for 5 minutes (85in hundred) The formed E enaminone 2 reacted with 2amino4methylthiazole 3 , 4aminopyridine 4 and Osubstituted aniline 5ac yielding the Z enaminones , predomination of Z form due to the fixation of this form by hydrogen bond (cfFigure 1) ; Although 2aminobenzothiazole 9 afforded a mixture of E enaminone 10 and Z - enaminone 11in ratio 4 : 6 as indicated from 1H NMR (cfFigure 2)
