A computer - aided design software for bulk material belt conveyors has been developed using microsoft excel and solid works programs; the software provides a comprehensive design of belt components as well as constructional and working drawings of these components. Additionally, it includes a database for different conveyed materials and belt conveyor components. The aim of the developed software is to provide the designer with a user - friendly graphical interface to automatically identify the best design parameters including: Belt width, conveying speed, trough angle, motor power, tension system, drum size, belt type, belt size, and roller size
