Our aim of work is to investigate the role of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T polymorphism and global DNA methylation status as factors involved in NTDs etiology. A hospital based case-control study was performed. Our results showed a significant hypomethylation in NTDs subjects versus control. Direct association between the frequency of 677TT genotype of the MTHFR gene and NTDs has not been demonstrated in our study UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
