The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of applying a thin intermediary coating of acid - etchable glassws on zirconia discs (glaze - on technique), compared to tribochemical silica coating, on the shear bond strength between two types of resin based cement and a ytria - stabilized zirconia dental ceramic substrate. 20 yttria - stabilized tetragonal zirconia discs were constructed with standardized dimensions. Then all dises were sandblasted with 110 pm A₂O₃ particles. All dises were randomly divided into 2 groups: Group 1 (n = 10): zirconia surface was treated with glaze - on technique, in which a thin layer of acid - etchable glazing ceramics was applied to the zirconia surface followed by HF acid etching. Group 2 (n - 10): zirconia surface was treated with cojet tribochemical silica coating of particle size 30 æm
