Materials and methods: Animals were exposed to a single radiation dose level of 6 Gy. Each of piperine 50 mg/kg, Nano Se 2.55 mg/kg and their combination was administered orally. In carrageenan-induced paw edema and hyperalgesia model, the paw volume and nociceptive threshold were measured 3 hours after carrageenan injection. In the six-days old air pouch model, the exudate was collected 6 hours after carrageenan injection for estimation of biochemical parameters. Results: The inflammatory but not the nociceptive response produced by carrageenan in irradiated rats was significantly higher than that induced in non-irradiated rats. Each of piperine, Nano-Se and their combination was effective in reducing the paw volume in non-irradiated and irradiated rats UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
