Cross-sectional analytic study included 100 centrally obese subjects; MS was defined by the presence of {u2265} 3 ATP - NCEP III criteria, all subjects underwent waist circumference (WC) measurement, BMI calculation, BP measurement, laboratory blood tests, complete RV and conventional LV 2D echocardiographic study. Metabolic syndrome was found in 57% of the subjects, 7 of them had the whole 5 criteria. There was no statistically important difference in the gender distribution; about half of the subjects were females. The age was higher in MS patients and showed a statistically important difference compared with non MS 49.10 ± 9.88 vs. 40.27 ± 9.99 years, P < .001 ER -
