N2  - The aim of this work is to study the immunohistochemical expression of E - cadherin and p53 in malignant epithelial neoplasms of the urinary bladder and their possible prognostic values. 52 radical cystectomy specimens; collected from the Pathology department, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, during the period from September 2011 up to December 2012. Three 4- æm thick sections were cut from the formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tumor blocks. One  was stained with H and E for histopathological reassessment, one was stained immunohistochemically by E- cadherin monoclonal antibody, and one was stained immunohistochemically by p53 polyclonal antibody. The immunohistochemical demonstration of the immune markers was accomplished by using immunoperoxidase method. The membranous expression of E- cadherin immunostaining and the degree of this expression were evaluated according to elzagheid et al., 2002. P53 brownish nuclear immunostaining and its degree of staining were evaluated according to yildiz et al., 2009
