Adjusting and optimising the process operation will have a great effect on the energy consumed in the refinery. In addition, energy integration in the pre-heat trains is a key driver in increasing the duty of the pre - heat train of the distillation that leads to less fuel consumption in the fired-heater (furnace). Also decreasing the energy consumption of the refinery process is equivalent to cutting down the total emissions from the refinery unit. Previous methods that cope with the above objectives include column modifications and pre - heat train modifications ER -
